Woke up and ran for breakfast, not noticing Jose was upstairs sleeping.
Came back to villa, found him and headed out for a day driving.
Visited a friend of his, had lunch at Balboa, went to Recuca (but didn’t do tour because two and half hours would have been an eternity with kids), made two coffee stops and one pineapple stop.
Had dinner at Heliconias sit-down restaurant. Not as good as La Herrería.
Danny: Ese postre está más raro que un ratón con cabeza de león. Es más loco que un coco.

Woke up late, again, but managed to get everyone out the door in 15 minutes. This was a real, live miracle.
Spent morning at hotel pool, and read quite a bit of Anne Lamott’s Small Victories.
Lunch at hotel restaurant, again.
Got locked out of villa for a while.
Dropped Mom and Dad off at airport. All in all, their visit went pretty well.
Carolina called to say Cecilia had arrived.
Dinner at La Herrería again. Yum.
Bit of after dinner entertainment, while kids were at their movie night.
To bed^ for a fairly sleepless night.

Had breakfast and then went to watch not-so-great show at Panaca theme park.
Walked around Panaca and took a bunch of photos.
Lunch at hotel restaurant.
Bit of reading, nap, then quick swim in villa pool.
Delicious dinner at Herrreria a la carte restaurant, followed by a bit of after dinner entertainment.

Had breakfast at the hotel. Again.
Hung out with the kids by the pool till lunch and then had lunch at the hotel restaurant.
Played Jenga.
Came back to villa and wrote some long overdue emails! Then I organized my inbox! This alone has made the whole day worthwhile 🙂

He woke up and said he was sorry to be frustrating me.
We slept in. Yay!
Almost missed breakfast and then stayed by/in the pool till lunch.
As I sat by the pool, I worked on accepting things as they are instead of being unhappy they are not as I wish them to be.
After lunch, went back to the villa for a rest.
Napped^ till dinner time.
Went back to hotel for dinner and managed to catch a bit of the after dinner show before the kids started to fall asleep.
Drank rosé after the kids went to bed.

Woke up and said “Don’t stay mad.” He said, “OK.”
Left Apulo.
In the car, discussed resisting the temptation to enter doors that people leave open but we shouldn’t enter.
Stopped at El Roble for lunch.
Arrived at Decameron Panaca. Our villa is gorgeous.
Pool, dinner, bed.
He said he was too tired. I said I was sexually frustrated.

Woke up and dressed Lily in cow costume.
Dropped her off at Lero Lero.
J and I took Danny and Ben for breakfast to Cosiaca, where I wrapped teacher presents and made parents’ reservation for Panaca next week.
Watched Lily’s Nativity play. ¨Pedro, no estés triste. Si no puedes comprarle un regalo, puedes regalarle todo tu amor!”
Picked up Ben’s second birthday cake.
Drove around city looking for a Carulla that had a ham we could get for free with our points.
Took Ben and friends to movies (Paddington) and video games.
Went to Papa John’s with Sergio and the gang.
Lay in bed watching Prince videos.

Note: This day lasted about 3 years.
